About
An annual open-air theater festival held at the beginning of the theater season on Štvanice Island in Prague, Czech Republic. The festival presents productions of ancient dramas and plays with ancient themes in coproduction with VILA Štvanice Theatre. It brings ancient drama under the starry sky, draws from the island's genius loci, and offers creators space for ambitious directorial and visual concepts. The festival presents contemporary interpretations of ancient themes, including adaptations of works by Aeschylus, Ovid, Sophocles, Seneca, Aristophanes, and original contemporary plays exploring classical mythology.
