Àprile is a festival that transforms private homes into public spaces of free artistic expression during one weekend in April. Born in Turin in 2023, the festival welcomes artists from around the world—many presenting their work in Italy for the first time—across disciplines including sculpture, installation, painting, poetry, performance, theatre, and music. Each art form adapts to and explores within domestic spaces, creating a unique ground for contemporary art engagement. The festival operates on the belief that homes serve as ideal venues for intimate artistic exchange and community building, reimagining familiar spaces as cultural centers. Operating as an independent, self-managed, and free project, Àprile has expanded beyond Turin to cities including Lyon, with requests from Ravenna, Berlin, Naples, and Belgrade. The festival emphasizes collaboration, networking, and co-creation as core values, hosting hundreds of artists across dozens of homes.
