About

CICLOP - Visual Theatre Festival is organised by the Centre d'Investigació Escènica, a leading creation centre in the Balearic Islands, with support from local and regional authorities. The festival usually takes place on the second weekend of September in Sineu, Mallorca, and has experienced growth over the years in terms of the quality of artistic proposals, audience figures and international projection. CICLOP strives to be a showcase for the latest trends in physical and visual theatre, placing special interest in performances based on movement and physicality, and offering companies working in visual and gestural theatre a professional meeting point, with a focus on non-verbal performances where text isn't the principal means of engaging with the audience. The festival also carries out social activities, including programmes addressed to young people and a theatre project involving local inhabitants, and periodically welcomes guest countries to foster international links.
