Festival del folklore siciliano scolastico
Catania, Italy
About
The Sicilian School Folklore Festival is organised by the Pizzigoni Carducci Comprehensive School in Catania. The event was inspired by participation in competitions on Sicilian culture promoted by the Umberto I Scientific High School in Palermo and the Sicilian Region. The festival features performances by Pizzifolk, a folk group composed of students and teachers from the institute, directed by artistic director Maestro Donato Ciulla. Pizzifolk has gained international recognition, performing at prestigious events in Bulgaria, Mexico and the Almond Blossom Festival, bringing Sicilian cultural traditions to audiences worldwide.
