Festival Jeunes Pousses, held with the support of the city of Saulx-les-Chartreux, France, highlights young contemporary creation across various artistic disciplines: theatre, dance, music, circus and puppets. To make these practices accessible to a wide audience, this free-access festival takes place outdoors, in the streets, parks and courtyards, and has grown into a major street arts event in the Essonne region. The Animakt team has developed quality programming over the years, giving prominence to young companies alongside recognised artists in the street arts sector. Part of the festival is devoted to plastic installations and venue scenography, creating a surprising and convivial space, with the host city periodically transformed through ambitious, ephemeral staging. The festival is a participatory community project where preparation meetings and scenography sites are open to residents, inviting them to join in creating the set design alongside local partners.
