About
Nové Scény is a European artistic practice project for youth implemented in Central Europe that organizes two international festivals of French-speaking theatre in Pardubice, Czechia: Malé Scény for younger participants (9-14 years old) and Velké Scény for older participants (15-20 years old). These non-competitive festivals welcome young actors from across Europe and the world who practice acting in French. Participants present plays on the professional stage of Východočeské Divadlo and engage in acting workshops, meet-ups with festival sponsors, European games, round-table discussions, open-stage performances, professional theatre attendance, and closing celebrations. Each participant receives a diploma at an official closing ceremony. The festivals aim to provide a multicultural space for youth to meet, exchange through cultural practice and language, and develop a sense of international community.
