A summer theatre festival held from July to August in Valle d'Itria, Italy, celebrating the forty-year legacy of Carlo Formigoni, a significant Italian and European theatre director and pedagogue. The festival takes place on the Aia and in a small 150-seat open-air amphitheatre beside Formigoni's trulli farmhouse near Cisternino. The festival hosts performances, artistic residencies, training activities, and community events that blend tradition with innovation. It offers workshops and laboratories inspired by Formigoni's pedagogical methods, transmitting knowledge to new generations of actors, directors, and spectators. The festival engages local audiences, schools, and cultural associations while attracting visitors from Italy and abroad. Teatro delle Forche, founded by Giancarlo Luce, continues Formigoni's work and envisions the venue as an international artistic residence hosting young European companies to experiment with new theatrical processes and languages.
