About
The oldest continuously operating puppet festival in the world, established in Chrudim in 1951. The festival presents a selection of the best productions from Czech nonprofessional puppet theatres and features professional puppet shows with international participation. It showcases amateur puppetry in all its types and manifestations, with productions nominated for the Jirásek Hronov Festival's main programme. The event includes approximately 140 performances annually, with 45 competitive performances, along with professional educational seminars, public analysis seminars, discussions, concerts, and puppet workshops. Educational seminars serve 300 students of various ages.
