Santarcangelo di Romagna, Italy
Italy's oldest festival dedicated to contemporary performing arts and one of Europe's most significant events for theatre and dance. Founded in 1971, the festival is characterized by its international artistic presence, engagement with public space, and connection to the local community. The association organizes year-round activities including artist residencies and local cultural projects. Each July, the festival intensifies for ten days with performances, seminars, workshops, and meetings. It creates a temporary community of artists, citizens, and spectators around contemporary performing arts, commissioning and co-producing artistic projects while collaborating with national and international cultural institutions.
