The event centers on the Opera dei Pupi (Sicilian puppet theater), featuring an original theatrical performance where puppets free themselves from their puppeteers as a metaphor for human autonomy and modern dependencies. The festival transforms the town into an open-air museum with large iron puppet installations and sculptures throughout the historic center and tonnara area, created by a local blacksmith artist.
