Social Circus Festival in Armenia

The Social Circus Festival is a touring circus festival bringing professional performances, creative workshops and community activities to towns and villages across the Syunik region of Armenia, centred on the town of Goris. Rather than inviting communities to a central venue, an international team of circus artists travels through Goris and surrounding villages, offering free cultural activities in places where access to professional arts can otherwise be limited. The festival is part of the year-round work of South Caucasus Social Circus, an organisation founded in Armenia that brings circus and creative activities to children, young people, educators, people with disabilities and local organisations across the country. It aims to create a meeting point between international artists, Armenian artists and local communities, demonstrating that professional circus can take place successfully outside traditional cultural centres.
