Szada Fényei Festival

Szada Fényei Festival

SZADA, Hungary

About

Szada Fényei is a free community festival in Szada, a village near Budapest, Hungary, combining light installations, visual and digital arts, music, performances, workshops and local cultural heritage. The festival is centered on light's transformative power to reveal stories and create shared experiences in public spaces. A signature project invites local schoolchildren to reimagine architectural drawings of Bertalan Székely's former studio—a historic building connected to the renowned Hungarian painter—filling them with their own creativity and imagination. Their collective artwork is projected onto the studio walls at large scale during the festival. The festival emphasizes young people's creative participation through interactive programmes exploring light, digital technology and visual arts. It provides emerging artists opportunities to engage directly with communities. Central to its identity are public space experiences, accessibility, inclusion and environmental sustainability
