About
TOLFARTE International Street Art and Artistic Handicraft Festival takes place during the first weekend of August in the small town of Tolfa, near Rome, Italy. Launched by the Comunità Giovanile di Tolfa, a group of young visionaries who continue to make up its organisational and artistic directors, the festival became a meeting and exchange point between local artisan and artistic culture and the most innovative forms of street art. With a programme of local and national artists, exhibitions, installations and performances, it has registered strong engagement among the town's inhabitants, thanks to its ability to involve local artists and craft resources while sensitising young people to art and civic participation. Carried out in close collaboration with the Municipality of Tolfa, the festival now receives more than 60,000 visitors with free entry and is considered a model of participation in cultural policy at municipal, regional and national level in Italy.
