Turku International Puppetry Festival

Turku, Finland

About

Turku International Puppetry Festival (TIP-Fest) is one of the largest contemporary puppetry festivals in Finland. Founded in 2009, the festival presents a dozen performances annually, focusing on creatively innovative contemporary puppetry and fostering a festive, community-building atmosphere. The festival invites international artists to Turku to present a wide variety of contemporary puppetry to Finnish audiences and artists, while showcasing Finnish puppetry and promoting local productions to international presenters. In addition to performances, the festival offers professional discussions, workshops, and a festival club for artists, producers, and audiences to meet and network. Since 2024, TIP-Fest operates on a biennial format, allowing for more strategic preparation and artistically ambitious programming. The festival is produced by a professional team in collaboration with long-term local partners and supports the puppetry network Aura of Puppets.
