About
Ana Desetnica is an urban art, national and international street theatre festival that has been changing the intended purpose of public space for a quarter of a century, making it accessible to everyone and often attracting those who don't usually attend cultural events. It is the largest and most diverse artistic cultural and social event in Slovenia, having visited 28 Slovenian cities and attracting tens of thousands of visitors a year. Presenting exciting and excellent contemporary performing street art groups from Slovenia and abroad, the festival, held annually in Ljubljana in early July, also makes room for newcomers and experimental projects involving several genres and disciplines, with recent editions upgrading the concept to include focuses in both the historic city centre and surrounding neighbourhoods, connected by an inclusive parade.
