Dramatiker|innenfestival Graz

About

The festival creates a space for exploring new narratives that challenge patriarchal, Eurocentric, and dichotomous thinking. It seeks to overcome narratives of domination and promote new understandings of relationships between humans and the planet, as well as among diverse communities. The festival deconstructs traditional identity categories to amplify voices of marginalized groups including women, people of color, people with disabilities, animals, and plants. The event features international theatrical pieces, drama walks with contemporary texts, international guest performances, children's and young people's programming, and the Vertaalprijs award presentation. A primary goal is connecting theatre professionals—particularly authors, dramaturgs, and directors—while making contemporary theatre more accessible to broader audiences.
