About
Festival de Circo do Brasil (founded 2004) is Latin America's leading international contemporary circus festival. Now in its 19th edition, it transforms Recife and the broader Grande Recife region into a center for circus arts each November, featuring street performances, nouveau cirque, traditional circus, and transdisciplinary works blending circus with theater, dance, and visual arts. The festival serves artists of all skill levels, students, professionals, and families through performances, free public residencies, creative workshops, and laboratories. In 2025, it expands internationally with simultaneous programming in Toulouse, France. Highlights include malabarismo, tecido aéreo, acrobatics, palhaçaria, and innovative hybrid creations; the festival actively supports Brazilian circus production through its Creative Arts Support Call with R$10,000 prizes and international residency placements for winning projects.
