About
Flying Carpet Festival is a mobile arts initiative based in Mardin, Türkiye, extending into remote villages along the Turkish-Syrian border and created for refugee and traumatised children living in conflict zones. Positioned deliberately at a geopolitical border, the festival replaces environments shaped by war and displacement with spaces for collective healing and cross-cultural solidarity. Working in close partnership with the Sirkhane Social Circus School, the festival brings together international volunteer artists and local youth to co-create touring performances that blend acoustic music, contemporary circus, puppetry, digital media and regional storytelling, delivered directly to isolated border communities.
