The largest literature festival in the Netherlands, lasting two weeks and presenting over 200 authors to 20,000+ visitors. Since 2022, ILFU operates as a comprehensive literary organization offering public events, writing and reading courses through the ILFU Academy, and a digital platform featuring literary content primarily in Dutch with English-language interviews with international writers. Notable past attendees include Margaret Atwood, Jonathan Franzen, Michel Houellebecq, Nick Cave, Jeanette Winterson, Ali Smith, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, György Konrád, Daniel Kehlmann, Elena Ferrante, John Irving, and Salman Rushdie.
