About
The Short Theater Festival in Oradea, Romania, was founded in 1976 with the aim of promoting and developing short-form theater, bringing together outstanding productions and renowned theater directors. Initially conceived as a national event, it became an international competition in 1984, during its sixth edition, gradually establishing itself as a prestigious event in the Romanian theatrical landscape. Since 2013, it has been part of the Oradea International Theater Festival (FITO), where it remains one of its main sections. In 2024, the festival celebrated its 27th edition, maintaining its status as the only festival in Romania dedicated exclusively to one-act plays. The festival is competitive, with a specialized jury awarding prizes for Best Performance, Best Direction, Best Scenography, Best Actor, and Best Actress.
