Tap Liège Festival celebrates tap dance in performance, held in Liège, Belgium, at the polyvalent theatre space of the Claquettes Club, a venue ideally created for tap dance with hardwood floor, acoustic properties, theatrical lights and sound. The festival embraces tap dance as contemporary expression, nostalgia, musical theatre, music and dance, alongside flamenco and percussive dance, aiming to nurture the art form into the future. Artists are fully accompanied by dramaturgical services and full technical support for lights, sound and video. The programme has featured feminist-inspired explorations of women in tap dance, contemporary fantasias on the passage of time, dance-theatre surrealism, and collaborations between jazz musicians and tap performers from Canada, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United States.
