The Malta International Arts Festival blends innovation with accessibility, curating a programme of artistic excellence with strong contemporary aesthetics for a wide audience. The festival hosts most events within unique heritage sites, including concerts in a subterranean 16th-century cistern built by the Knights of Malta and theatre productions aboard a two-masted vessel overlooking Grand Harbour. Additional offerings include residency programmes, projects connecting local and international artists, a fringe programme involving students, community engagement initiatives, and co-productions with organizations such as the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Heritage Malta, and Teatru Malta.
