To Meet the Beast
Klaipėda, Lithuania
About
The festival explores humanity's relationship with the beast—both external monsters and internal darkness. Participants are invited to examine the boundaries between civilization and wilderness, safety and danger, self and other. The festival investigates how society constructs the "monster" to define itself, and how beasts have haunted human imagination across cultures and centuries. Through theatrical exploration, the festival challenges participants to confront what is frightening and unfamiliar, to distinguish between genuine danger and projected fear, and to recognize that the beast may exist within as well as without. The event invites courage in facing the bestiary that reveals itself in unexpected forms.
