Almere, Netherlands
An international, intergenerational performing arts festival held each spring in Almere, the Netherlands, dedicated to children aged 0–6 and the adults around them. The festival brings together children, families, artists and professionals for theatre, dance, music, performance and artistic encounters. Young children participate actively as curious, imaginative spectators rather than passive audiences. Performances invite children and adults to experience art together—to look, listen, move, play, wonder and discover. The festival takes place in theatres, neighbourhoods and spaces where families naturally spend time, with year-round programming through the Jong Beginnen (Start Young) initiative that builds long-term relationships between artists, children, parents and childcare professionals. The festival serves as an international meeting place for artists and professionals, offering artistic research, exchange, residencies and conversations. It aims to make high-quality international
